My winter fragrances have tucked away in their neat little cubby. So now I am yearning for something fresh and fruity and clean. Enter my favorite aroma that the Body Shop has ever released. Yes, it's that cute little orange the Satsuma. It's my go to scent in the summer and I am still slathering it on ever since I first came across it in the late 80's. The Body Shop has added some new Satsuma products such as scrubs and oils and all are divine. They even make a cute little lip balm. Check it out online you will be surprised how reasonable the prices are.

LA IMATS It's Mecca for Make Up!
The time is almost here for IMATS Los Angeles 2012. I am already planning on purchasing more goodies from my favorite make up brands. Unfortunately, tickets are sold out for Saturday but if you are in the LA area this Sunday June 24th, I highly recommend you buy a ticket online and go. You can purchase your favorite brands at wholesale prices. It truly is a sight to behold. Where else can you grab and reach and find name brand make up at discount prices. It's like a sample sale but sooo much better. I will be posting all of my loot when I return and pictures will follow as well.

Summer Hair Ideas
With temperatures soaring it's time to put the blow dryer away and find easy care hairstyles. Lately, I have been finding the cutest accessories that help me manage my long unruly hair. I can create a quick updo or a pinned back girly look or even a cutesy headband or two. Also, don't rule out a scarf they get you through on the days your roots need a touch up or maybe even a dry shampoo day. Here are a few pics of my favorite looks and a few tools that help get the job done. Many of these items can be found online at amazon.com or at your local pharmacy or Target and Wal Mart store.

Emi-Jay hair ties help hold an easy ponytail or tie up the ends of braided hair. They are soft and don't dent your hair which is perfect if you want to let it all down and show off your locks at night.
Goody Ouchless headbands. Goody bands are getting trendy. I love the style to the left. Its so feminine and chic. Pair it with an updo or let your hair loose either look is easy and put together.
For updo's I love the Goody modern Updo pin. It's a staple in my must have purse kit. With a quick twist I have my hair up and off my shoulders and ready for an afternoon meeting.
For a romantic look opt for a scarf. A scarf is a great way to hide any roots that may need a touch up or if you are in between washes. It really perks up and outfit and looks fresh modern and cool.
Use braids as an accessory. Braids have been trendy for the past couple of years and continue to be in style due to their flexibility. Once you unbraid your hair you have soft sexy beach waves that are all the rage. Here are a few ideas to get started. You can do a traditional three section braid or also try a two section braid for a different look.

In a real hurry do a quick pin back. Bobby pins are your best friend this summer. Grab a handful and get creative.

Hands down the best Eyelash Curler is....
Hello Gorgeous eyes, never curl your lashes again without the power tool by Shu Uemura. Voted best curler for a few years running nothing curls like a shu. It grabs the lashes at the roots and opens up those peepers and prepares your lashes for your favorite mascara. If you are feeling fun and wild try the pretty Azure blue mascara from Dior. It really pops and adds an unexpected pop of color to your look. Sassy!
Summer Hair Care RX : Sea Spray
If you are like me there are just some days when you don't want to hassle with all the products and hair tools under the sun. You just want to wash and go. Well, to the rescue is sea spray texturizer. I am currently using Alterna's Summer Hemp Ocean Waves and loving it! I just wash and condition my hair and spray some of the product in and scrunch sections and boom you are ready to go. My hair has virtually no curl to it so if I want to add a little oomph then I attach a diffuser to my hair dryer and hold it under the ends. This gives the ends a tad more polish curled appearance and in a fraction of the time it takes me to dry and curl my hair I am out the door with carefree waves with bed head appeal. Yay!Tuesday, May 22, 2012
Travel Pick Tips
A good friend of mine asked if I would send a list of items that I love and suggest for travel. So here is a copy of the email I sent with my favorite products. Many of these I have reviewed but some are new to the blog.
Cera Ve foaming facial cleanser
I buy a bottle of this and transfer to a travel bottle. I also bring the Neutrogena wipes for mascara but I only use the wipes I break out. Bring your Clarisonic too. I use the Cera Ve morning and night for cleansing. Then SPF I love La Roche Posay
Anthelios SPF 60 ultra light. It completely blends into the skin and leaves your face soft and protected. Then I would grab Neutrogena ultra sheer dry touch sunblock for body. It's the best I have tried as it blends in quick. Definitely an eye primer if you have one if you are wearing eye shadow. I love Dior palettes. My fave right now is the 5 color Dior palette 042 Lifting Grey.
Because it will be warm where you are going minimal makeup is a plus. A tinted moisturizer may be all you need. Garner has a new BB cream. I haven't tried it myself but it is getting good reviews. You can do a bronzer/blush combo like one from Physicians Formula. The Badger lip balms with shimmer are awesome. I got it at whole foods but it doesn't have SPF. So you may want to opt for a SPF loaded one with color like Benetint from Benefit. Another awesome pick for multitasking is Rosebud Salve. You can slather it on lips ragged cuticles dry elbows etc and it's only 6 bucks! Love it. Hum, let's see for hair I like Alterna's Hemp Ocean Waves. It's perfect for easy summer hair. Shampoo, condition and towel dry, I always pick up travel bottles of Pureology hydrate shampoo & conditioner or pure beauty in napa carries my fave brand in travel size the Enjoy hydrating shampoo and conditioner. Both products are sulfate free and amazing. So after you towel dry apply the ocean waves and scrunch. You get easy beach hair and it holds lightly. If you want more glamour you can wind strands around a large barrel curler and get more of a beachy wave look. My favorite hairspray is Kenra volume 25 spray which they have in travel size yay! If you want to go for a straight hair look then grab a bottle of Kenra's blow dry spray. After you shampoo and condition spray the blow dry spray and use a wide tooth comb to detangle. Then you can lightly blow dry straight. It dries your hair in half the time and leaves it silky and soft.
So those would be my picks for purchase. This is how I would lay out my on board travel case and my packed make up bag.
On board: I you go sans makeup: lip salve, a good facial moisturizer; slather that on before take off. Weleda hand cream, hand sanitizer wipes.
If you go with makeup: use a silicone primer before applying your makeup. Use light coverage makeup and bring lip balm hand cream and sanitizer wipes or Purel hand sanitizer.
Makeup bag essentials:
Eyelash curler
Brow gel or brow pencil
Eye shadow brushes:
Crease, flat shadow, blender, and smudger
Blush/bronzer combo with face brush
Mascara
One multipurpose eye palette
Dior or too faced kit
Eye primer
Tinted moisturizer or foundation light build able coverage option
Hair care Items:
Travel size Shampoo, conditioner, and hairspray
Beach spray or blow dry spray
Large barrel curler or blow dryer
These are just some of my faves oh you can find Cera Ve and La Roche posay at CVS.
