Travel Pick Tips

A good friend of mine asked if I would send a list of items that I love and suggest for travel. So here is a copy of the email I sent with my favorite products. Many of these I have reviewed but some are new to the blog.

Cera Ve foaming facial cleanser
I buy a bottle of this and transfer to a travel bottle. I also bring the Neutrogena wipes for mascara but I only use the wipes I break out. Bring your Clarisonic too. I use the Cera Ve morning and night for cleansing. Then SPF I love La Roche Posay
Anthelios SPF 60 ultra light. It completely blends into the skin and leaves your face soft and protected. Then I would grab Neutrogena ultra sheer dry touch sunblock for body. It's the best I have tried as it blends in quick. Definitely an eye primer if you have one if you are wearing eye shadow. I love Dior palettes.  My fave right now is the 5 color Dior palette 042 Lifting Grey.
Because  it will be warm where you are going minimal makeup is a plus. A tinted moisturizer may be all you need. Garner has a new BB cream. I haven't tried it myself but it is getting good reviews. You can do a bronzer/blush combo like one from Physicians Formula. The Badger lip balms with shimmer are awesome. I got it at whole foods but it doesn't have SPF. So you may want to opt for a SPF loaded one with color like Benetint from Benefit. Another awesome pick for multitasking is Rosebud Salve. You can slather it on lips ragged cuticles dry elbows etc and it's only 6 bucks! Love it. Hum, let's see for hair I like Alterna's Hemp Ocean Waves. It's perfect for easy summer hair. Shampoo, condition and towel dry, I always pick up travel bottles of Pureology hydrate shampoo & conditioner or pure beauty in napa carries my fave brand in travel size the Enjoy hydrating shampoo and conditioner. Both products are sulfate free and amazing. So after you towel dry apply the ocean waves and scrunch. You get easy beach hair and it holds lightly. If you want more glamour you can wind strands around a large barrel curler and get more of a beachy wave look. My favorite hairspray is Kenra volume 25 spray which they have in travel size yay! If you want to go for a straight hair look then grab a bottle of Kenra's blow dry spray. After you shampoo and condition spray the blow dry spray and use a wide tooth comb to detangle. Then you can lightly blow dry straight. It dries your hair in half the time and leaves it silky and soft.

So those would be my picks for purchase. This is how I would lay out my on board travel case and my packed make up bag.

On board: I you go sans makeup: lip salve, a good facial moisturizer; slather that on before take off. Weleda hand cream, hand sanitizer wipes.
If you go with makeup: use a silicone primer before applying your makeup. Use light coverage makeup and bring lip balm hand cream and sanitizer wipes or Purel hand sanitizer.

Makeup bag essentials:
Eyelash curler
Brow gel or brow pencil
Eye shadow brushes:
Crease, flat shadow, blender, and smudger
Blush/bronzer combo with face brush
Mascara
One multipurpose eye palette
Dior or too faced kit
Eye primer
Tinted moisturizer or foundation light build able coverage option

Hair care Items:
Travel size Shampoo, conditioner, and hairspray
Beach spray or blow dry spray
Large barrel curler or blow dryer

These are just some of my faves oh you can find Cera Ve and La Roche posay at CVS.

Flight Time: Top Travel picks for Flying

I admit I wish I lived more of a Jetsetter lifestyle but I manage to take a few flights a year. Air travel can wreak havoc on your skin and cause dryness. I have put together a few of my favorite tips and tricks to ensure you reach your destination feeling as fresh and radiant as possible. First, always remember to hydrate yourself. Drink plenty of water and although alcoholic beverages are enjoyable save them for your destination. Alcohol will only dehydrate you further and not help in the least with jet lag. So drink plenty of water before during and after the flight. Secondly, if you can go makeup free that is always the best to let your skin breathe. I am not a makeup free girl so I use my mineral powder foundation and a swipe of mascara and my Nuxe Reve de Miel lip balm. Minimal is key as you can always touch up before touch down. I also use a very hydrating cream under my make up and I suggest bringing it along. It is from Caudalie's. It is their Vinosource SOS Thirst-Quenching Serum. It's great at quenching even the driest skin and ensures that your face is radiant and not prune like. I love my Weleda hand lotion. It's rich creamy formula controls ragged cuticles and dry nails. It has a nice herbal aroma that is a real pick me up during long flights. I always make sure to grab a few packets of Emergen-C and add them to plain water. It gives me  bit more Vitamin C for the close quarters of the cabin. Mints are always a plus and appreciated by fellow passengers. :) I also pack a few protein rich snacks as well. Nut based and filling. Balance bars work well and are very yummy as an in between or a meal replacement. These are just a few of my favorite in flight tips. I will also elaborate on some drugstore finds and CVS store favorites. Stay tuned.
